Commentary |
This is the first explicitly crepuscular icon. It depicts the exact moment when the day is dying. The ruins on the right could be a castle. They balance the composition marked by the tilted horizon in a way that is, in my opinion, very beautiful. It is a very “silent” icon. Personally, I can spend minutes and minutes contemplating it, letting my thoughts wander. |
